Dr. Ronald Etskovitz, Dr. Zachary Sax, Dr. Catherine Jacobs, Dr. Raymond Murano, III, and Dr. Joshua Ouellette, of New England Podiatry Associates specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our firm has proudly served the Boston area since 1984. Our podiatrists are highly-trained, board-certified, and qualified specialists who provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide spectrum of foot and ankle conditions and injuries including Achilles tendonitis, ankle instability, ankle sprains, arch pain, arthritic foot and ankle care, athlete’s foot, bunions, calluses, and corns, crush injuries, flat feet, fungal toenail, hammertoes, heel pain, and plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, ingrown toenails, neuromas, and warts. Our doctors are experienced in diabetic foot treatment including assessing peripheral neuropathy, treating ulcers and wounds, and preventing amputations. New England Podiatry Associates specializes in sports medicine, whether due to overuse or sudden trauma. We heal our patients’ injuries and also work with them to prevent further damage. At our practice, we utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology for the best solution for each individual. We offer two offices in the Greater Boston area for the convenience of our patients. Our Chestnut Hill office is just outside Boston, and our Newton office is in the medical office building at The Newton-Wellesley Hospital. We accept Medicare, HMOs, PPOs, and most major insurance plans.

    Catherine is a foot and ankle surgeon who completed her residency at Saint Francis Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma center in Connecticut where she was Chief Resident. She has had extensive training to treat all aspects of foot and ankle pathology. As a former all-county soccer player and track runner, she understands how debilitating injuries can be and understands the importance of getting her patients back to their normal activities quickly and safely. Catherine is a New Jersey native. She graduated with a BS in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology from the University of Delaware and continued to complete her podiatric degree at Des Moines University. She is excited to be back in the Northeast to join the New England Podiatry team and is accepting new patients at both the Newton-Wellesley and Chestnut Hill offices, beginning January 2021.

  • Dr. Zachary Sax

    Podiatrist

    Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Sax earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Neuroscience from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. From there, he went on to receive his doctorate at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, completing his residency at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital of New York in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Sax is board certified and academically active, having contributed to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, online editorials, and nationally recognized poster symposiums. He has contributed to textbook chapters on subjects including bunion surgery and onychomycosis (nail fungus) and has special interests in minimally invasive techniques and sports medicine. Having volunteered on the medical teams of multiple marathons and as an avid runner himself, Dr. Sax knows the difficulties that athletes face and their desire to return to activity. By developing individualized treatment plans, Dr. Sax enables his patients to meet their goals and reach the best possible outcome. When not treating patients, Dr. Sax enjoys exploring New England with his wife and two daughters.

  • Dr. Joshua Ouellette

    Podiatrist

    Originally from Lowell, Massachusetts, Dr. Ouellette is excited to return to his home state after receiving advanced training at the prestigious Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is passionate about improving patient outcomes with foot and ankle issues using innovative evidence-based techniques. Dr. Ouellette offers expertise in surgery (bunions, hammertoes), arthritis, flatfeet, heel and joint pain, fungal toenails, wound care, and complications with peripheral vascular disease/diabetes. He also enjoys treating athletes with sports injuries allowing them to resume competitive activity. When creating a personalized treatment plan, Dr. Ouellette collaborates with his patients and their other medical providers to enable his patients to achieve greater health. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology at The University of Massachusetts Amherst. He then completed his medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He was accepted to Yale-New Haven Hospital Foot and Ankle Surgery residency program and ultimately served as Chief Resident, completing comprehensive training specializing in foot & ankle reconstruction and limb salvage. Dr. Ouellette is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), American Podiatric Medicine Association (APMA), and is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). In his free time, Dr. Ouellette enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Boston with friends, golfing, weightlifting, and watching professional football.
